WHY WE WORK TOGETHER

Creativity with Compassion

After a visit to the Save the Chimps sanctuary, it became clear that the sanctity of the lives of all creatures on our planet deserves our respect and support.

Our desire to participate in the care of sanctuary residents, specifically through the enrichment activities of painting and drawing, complements the safe, non-toxic art supplies Elseware creates.

About Save the Chimps

Save the Chimps provides safety, freedom, and exemplary care for chimpanzees who have been rescued from the exploitation of medical research, the entertainment industry and the pet trade.

Located on 150 acres in Fort Pierce, Florida, the Save the Chimps sanctuary largely depends on donations and volunteers to execute its mission of lifetime care for its resident chimps.

WORKING TOGETHER

Supporting Life at the Sanctuary

Elseware provided monetary support through a $300,000 matching grant, which culminated in the summer of 2026. An additional $300,000 in donations from a community of caring individuals and organizations met the matching challenge, resulting in a total donation of $600,000.

These funds are currently helping to support a healthy and nutritious diet, enrichment activities and medical care when necessary.

A Life of Freedom and Care

The current population of 200 chimps depends on the generosity of its supporters. Removed from the exploitative conditions of their former lives, sanctuary chimps are gifted with a peaceful retirement that includes socializing with other resident chimps, freedom of movement, and support for their physical and emotional well-being.
